About Us
Our Origins and Mission
The Chinese Art and Culture Association of Hong Kong (CACAHK) was formally established in 2008 and is a successfully registered non-profit charitable organisation under Hong Kong law. The Association originated from a deep concern for cultural inheritance shared by a group of veteran cultural workers and artists. All our actions are guided by the public good.
Our Core Philosophy
We view cultural inheritance as a solemn social responsibility. In a rapidly changing era, we strive to be guardians and guides of traditional Chinese arts, ensuring these precious intangible cultural heritage elements are not merely preserved in museums but thrive in community streets, school classrooms, and the lived experiences of our citizens.
Our Key Areas of Focus
Systematic Preservation
Creating a valuable archive of Hong Kong's Chinese arts ecology through digital documentation, oral history projects, and archival work.
Innovative Promotion
Designing experiential activities relevant to modern life, breaking down barriers to traditional arts, and engaging citizens of all ages.
Inclusive Education
Providing ample free or affordable arts education opportunities, particularly targeting youth and families from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring cultural nourishment is accessible to all.
Professional Training
Cultivating local arts educators and curatorial talent to build a sustainable chain of cultural transmission.
Philanthropic Collaboration
Actively partnering with charitable institutions to bring the arts into hospitals, elderly homes, rehabilitation centres, and more, harnessing the therapeutic and caring power of art for society.
Our annual flagship project, the
All-Hong Kong Chinese Culture & Arts Exhibition
has become a major event in the local cultural calendar, bringing together diverse forces to showcase the breadth and depth of Chinese arts.
